Registration and 茄子视频 for Incoming Students

The registrar's office will register all incoming first-year and transfer students for your first semester, based on the information you provide!

  • Complete the Course Registration Form (available beginning in early June) on your . (You have to pay your deposit in order to see this form.) This form lets us know about your academic interests, extracurricular commitments, incoming credits, course preferences, and other information you want to share.
  • A note for transfer students: You might have a slightly different timeline than first-year students.

June - July: Complete the Course Registration Form

Before we can register you for classes, you need to submit the Course Registration Form found in your on Step 6. This form opens in early June. It's best to complete this as early as possible in June, but we will accept it later as well.

The Course Registration Form tells us:

  • What courses you have previously taken (including AP, IB, and dual enrollment)
  • What courses you are interested in
  • Extracurricular activities (like athletic practice or work schedule)

Send scores and transcripts for courses and exams:

Send your AP scores to Calvin

If your AP scores haven't been sent already, 聽you can order them from College Board at 1-888-CALL-4-AP (Calvin code: 1095).

Check credits by exam

Check the "Credit by Exam" section on our Transfer page to see the minimum scores required, Calvin course equivalency, Core fulfillment, and number of credits for AP, IB, A-Level Cambridge Exams, and CLEP. See also our course credits and exemptions policy.

Request dual enrollment transcripts from other colleges

If you took dual enrollment courses at another college, request an official transcript be sent directly to Calvin.

Understand the World Languages exemption

Calvin requires proficiency in a world language in order to graduate. If English is not your native language or if you complete the equivalent of third year high school language with a B or better, you many be exempt from this requirement.

Early August: Review Your Schedule

  • We'll email you in early August with instructions to view your schedule in Workday.听
  • Review your schedule and if there's a mistake or you need to request changes, email registrar@calvin.edu.听
  • The email will give you complete details about this process, including how to purchase textbooks.

Late August: Meet Your Major at Welcome Week

  • During Welcome Week, you'll have a chance to meet students and faculty in your department.听
  • Some professors offer group advising during this time, helping you become familiar with your major and core requirements.

Early October: Schedule Advising

  • You'll be assigned a faculty advisor in your major, or a Student Success advisor if you are undecided.
  • Meet with your advisor during Advising Days in October.
  • Register yourself for spring classes at your assigned registration time after Advising Days. The registrar's office offers drop-in help and training for this process.听
