Welcome, Knights!

We鈥檙e thrilled for you to get to know campus and make Calvin your home away from home.

Orientation will help you get connected to our vibrant community and equip you to make the most of your time here at Calvin.

Get ready for college!

Summer Orientation

For students starting fall semester

If you鈥檙e a first-year student starting in the fall, you will follow a three-step experience that includes Summer Orientation, Course Registration, and Fall Welcome.

Transfer students attend only Fall Welcome Week right before classes start.

Not sure? Your New Student Portal will tell you which group you've been assigned.

On-Campus Orientation: June

For most local first-year students and those able to travel to Grand Rapids:

  • June 9
  • June 20
  • June 27

Families are encouraged to join.
We do have housing available for students and families the night before summer orientation days.

Online Orientation: June & July

If you live over 250 miles from campus, this option is available for first-year students:

  • Morning, afternoon, and evening sessions.

Orientation Schedule Overview (on-campus)

Night Before

6:30 - 10:30 p.m.

For those who are traveling and arrive the night before, we offer accommodations in the residence halls and some pre-orientation activities.

Morning

Students check in for orientation outside under a tent.

Check-in begins at 8:45 a.m.

Starting Calvin in Spring?

All first-year or transfer students鈥攚e have orientation planned for you!听

On-campus students can move in on January 17 from 9-11am.
Orientation check-in will take place at 1pm.
