Why Study Abroad?

Earn credit toward your degree.

Off-campus programs offer credits, and many fulfill a core requirement. With a bit of planning, you can stay on track to graduate on time.

Gain skills for any major or career.

Expand beyond your typical area of study. You'll improve your critical thinking, adaptability, and communication skills, making you a stronger candidate for careers in any field.

Experience more than a vacation.

Off-campus programs are immersive and full of real-world joys and challenges. You'll build grit, increase cross-cultural competence, and form a genuine community鈥攁ll things you can't get from a textbook.

Benefit from faculty-led programs.

You'll not only benefit from your professor's experience, research, and connections鈥攜ou'll also have them as a mentor as you grow academically, culturally, and spiritually.

What made my semester abroad truly special were the people. From my host family to Calvin friends, local friends, and even my professors, I was able to create unforgettable memories with each of them. Living in Spain pushed me out of my comfort zone, challenged me in new ways, and helped me grow personally. It was not only a rich linguistic and cultural journey but also an opportunity to become part of an incredible community.
