Professor Mary McDermott serves as the current clinical director of the Speech Pathology and Audiology Program. She joined the School of Health in 2024 as a teaching fellow and assistant professor.
She has worked as a clinical speech-language pathologist for over thirty years in hospitals, nursing facilities, and school districts. She received her BS in Biology from John Carroll University and her Master's in Communication Disorders from the State University of New York at Buffalo. After working specifically in special education and educational administration, she received her Ed.D. in Leadership Studies from Ashland University, which allowed her to transition to higher education.
