Discover nature year-round through Weekend Wonder鈥攁 monthly Saturday series of expert-led programs for curious adults and kids alike.
Join John Ball Zoo and learn about our monarch butterfly conservation efforts, including responsible captive rearing, butterfly releases, and participation in the Monarch Larva Monitoring Project (MLMP). Learn how the zoo rears monarchs in small numbers for education and community engagement, using best practices to ensure the health of wild populations. You'll discover how to identify monarch eggs and larvae, monitor milkweed habitats, and contribute valuable data to national conservation science.
Weekend Wonder is for adults and older children. Activities for children 3 & up provided by our environmental educators!
