Award for Scholarship on Christianity in Business
The Award for Scholarship on Christianity in Business recognizes an academic paper that makes an exceptional contribution to Christian theological inquiry in business or the social scientific study of Christian religious phenomena in business.

Join us Friday, September 12, 4:00-5:00 pm, at the 茄子视频 School of Business for the annual Award for Scholarship on Christianity in Business. This award recognizes an academic paper that makes an exceptional contribution to Christian theological inquiry in business or the social scientific study of Christian religious phenomena in business.

will give a presentation and accept the award for his winning academic paper: Kent D. Miller, 鈥淩eorienting Strategy to Shalom鈥, Christian Scholar鈥檚 Review, 53:4, 29-50. He is widely recognized as one of the most influential management scholars of the past 35 years.

Dr. Miller challenges the fundamental assumption that business strategy must be rooted in an "ontology of conflict." His work explores how the biblical concept of shalom (peace) can transform business strategy from competition-focused to reconciliation-oriented. Dr. Miller proposes two complementary approaches: ethical principles focusing on conflict resolution and distributive justice, and relationship with God emphasizing discernment and personal transformation.

Dr. Miller is Chairperson and Professor of Management at the Eli Broad Graduate School of Management, Michigan State University. He received his Ph.D. from the University of Minnesota. His research examines strategic issue management and organizational learning and change, as well as methodological and philosophical issues in management and organization studies.

Light refreshments will be available prior to the presentation.
