- 2026 Writing Co-op:
Applicants must have a discrete writing project that is intended for publication, and the project should be that they can make meaningful progress over the course of 5 days. (In other words, applicants should propose working on a book chapter or article rather than a full book manuscript.) 鈥淲riting鈥 may be understood to include music, code, and other media, as well as words.
Collaborative as well as single-authored applications are welcome.
Expectations
Participants must agree to engage fully with the program from 8:45 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. each day, sans email and other electronic distractions and participating in the communal lunches and conversations. They should not schedule any other commitments or visit their offices during the program hours. Participants are expected to spend the vast majority of their time actually writing and revising, not reading or preparing to write, although opportunities for brainstorming and peer feedback are possible.
Upon successful completion of the Writing Co-op Week and turning in an evaluation, participants will receive a $500.00 stipend. To receive the stipend, your evaluation must be turned in no later than the following Friday of the writing co-op that you participated in.
